Our institute offers Polish language as a second language classes for adults and children at all levels. We are proud to introduce the 2021 Polish Language Series, a 3-week thematic series that you can register for. Depending on your skills, the instructor will assign you to one of three groups: beginner, intermediate or advanced.

The price is $ 45 for a series with a minimum number of 5 students.
1 series is a 3-week course (1 hour a week) and will be held online from 7pm - 8pm EST.

Marzanna Owinski, Director of Cultural & Educational Programs at the Piast Institute, received her Master of Arts in the Polish language with the teaching certification from the Warsaw University. She also holds the Master of Arts in Communication and Public Relations from the Wayne State University and the Michigan teaching certificate in the Polish language. She taught Polish at St. Mary’s Preparatory School and was a Polish language teacher and a principal at Father Dabrowski Polish Language School for several years. She has experience teaching Polish with students of all ages, including adults. Since 2019 she has been teaching Polish as a second language to adults at the Piast Institute.
Throughout her career, she has been focused on the promotion of Polish language and culture in the United States. Her actions led to the creation of the STAMP4S for the Polish language. She is a member of ACTFL, MIWLA, NCLCTL, and NAATPl. She is also a member of the Seal of Biliteracy Council in Michigan and a board member of the Dekaban Foundation. She has been a consultant for the U.S. government on the Polish DLPT test. She is the author of many articles in Polish on the topic of the Seal of Biliteracy for Dobra Polska Szkoła and a chapter in the book, Bilingual and Bicultural edited by Katarzyna Zechenter. She is also the editor of the informational website: Seal of Biliteracy po polsku.
