Immigration

What kind of Immigration Services are provided?

The Piast Institute is an Immigration Assistance Center accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Piast Institute currently an accredited representative, Aleksandra (Sandy) Porter who is fully accredited and has twenty years of immigration experience as well as an outstanding reputation within our various communities within Michigan. Below are some of the current Immigration Services provided by Ms. Porter:

Family VISA Services
  • Initial filing of I-130 (includes visa process)
  • Advanced Parole
  • H-1B Visa for temporary worker
  • F-1 Student Visa (consultation & processing)
  • K-1 Fiancé Visa (consultation & processing)
  • V.A.W.A. Violence against Women Act (consultation & processing)
  • Third Packet (regarding status of case and expected timeframes)
  • Fourth Packet/Visa Appointment (orientation regarding visa appointment abroad, completion of visa application forms)
  • Labor Certification - Permanent residence - 4 year process
  • Adjustment of status (adjustment application, orientation regarding procedure and timeframes)
  • Removal of Conditional Residence, I-751 (consultation procedure and required documentation)
  • Waiver of Removal of Conditional Residence, I-751 (evidence required and eligibility for waiver)

Legalization – Related Services

  • Legalization, Phase II application
  • Waiver for grounds of excludability I – 690 (regarding evidence to accompany application, etc.)
  • Family Unity (orientation for eligibility, preparation of application, assembly of documentation, etc.)
  • Appeals of denial of Legalization (includes filing appeal form, requesting full copy of file)
  • Appeal Brief (includes full briefing of appeal once FOIA is received)
  • Legalization status checks (letter to Southern Service Center to inquire about outstanding cases)
  • Work Authorization applications I – 765

Citizenship Services

  • Citizenship applications, N – 400 (includes orientation as to eligibility, procedure, etc.), N – 600

Miscellaneous Services – (Performed outside the context of an on-going case)

  • Translations 12 cents per word from Polish to English
  • Affidavits of Support (Short form)
  • General Consultations
